Summit was not lacking of any top-notch performances as the 32nd ranked team in the DigitalSports National Lacrosse Rankings, 3rd in New Jersey, faced West Essex Regional.
John Cordrey netted a hat trick, backed up by the two goals and two assists of Corey McManus. Riley Flynn added on another two scores and Evan Kulpan scored one to accompany his three assists.
The Hilltoppers led 6-1 at halftime. They added on four more in the third while West Essex managed two. Neither team scored in the fourth, ending the game at 10-3 for Summit.
This marks the third consecutive win for the Hilltoppers following their heartbreaking 5-4 loss in the season opener against New Jersey’s top-team, Delbarton. Scoring 24 goals and only allowing four in the last three games, Summit has proven that they are a top contender in New Jersey.
On top of that, this victory pushes Coach Jim Davidson to his 300th career win as the head coach of Summit, since taking over in 1999.
The Hilltoppers get back at it on March 4 against Cherry Creek, looking to extend to a four-game win streak.
